Benefits of staying active while pregnant!

 Hey guys!

Fitness during pregnancy?! Yes! I'm here to tell you that it makes such a difference in so many ways. I will tell you that this being my third pregnancy, I know it's not always the easiest to not only have the motivation to workout while pregnant but it can truly be a struggle as well. Struggle meaning, if you experience nausea like I do it can be a huge struggle to get yourself to even get up off the couch let alone make it to the gym, or try to do an at-home workout. On top of nausea, let's add in the overwhelming feeling of exhaustion! And please don't beat yourself up if you're truly so sick you can't! Believe me...there were MANY days during this first trimester I barely made it off the couch. And I was absolutely fine with that. But the days that I did push myself to do a workout of some kind, made such a difference with me mentally and helped tremendously with my nausea. I couldn't believe how much it helped me feel less sick.

Fitness during pregnancy can help your body in so many ways. These are just some of the positive benefits listed by the

American Pregnancy.Org

. These are the specific ones that I can vouch for. Reduces backaches, constipation, bloating and swelling. Staying active increases energy and improves your mood. Which OMG, I can't even tell you how much of a difference this makes for me. I truly feel like it helps me not want to sleep all day being pregnant and definitely makes me a happier person/mommy! Working out while pregnant also helps you sleep better at night and it 100% makes it easier to get back into shape after baby is born. Which that's a whole different blog post. Mommies do NOT worry and do NOT beat yourself up about this. Our bodies are absolutely amazing. What they are capable of. Don't stress about it and listen to your body afterward. I'll do a different blog post specifically about this! haha.

So my fellow mommas, whether this is your first pregnancy, second, third, fourth or maybe your a momma to be who is trying to become pregnant. My advice is to stay active. Keep your body healthy and strong, to your best capability. ALWAYS listen to your body, make modifications when needed, and make sure to not start a new crazy fitness routine you have never done before. I'm not joking when I tell you I believe mommies are real-life superheroes. I'll never get over what our bodies are capable of and to be able to create life, well that's a workout itself! It takes a lot of energy out of us to grow a healthy baby, so make sure you are always taking care of yourself first. But I promise staying active, even going for a short walk daily will help you and your baby. Physically and mentally.
